Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville

Normally I'm not one to leave a bad review but here it goes. The staff at the time have been helpful however after further discussions with them this had turned sour quite fast. It was asked to staff if where my car was parked if it was fine. The staff informed me that it was fine where it was. Nothing was offered more about the subject. However the next morning when I went to retrieve my car. It was missing. It was towed away. So the staff have incorrectly informed me. I have had many conversations with the reception manager about how this was a fault of their staff by giving me the instructions that my car was perfectly fine where it was. I'm now out of pocket an excess of $350 due to a fault which could have been prevented if their staff had offered for the paid parking which I had no knowledge about. The staff are quite rude about this situation and have been no assistance but only on the grounds that now I'm the liar. I know what I was told by the staff at the time otherwise if I was instructed that if was not the correct parking I would have moved my car and not be out of pocket. I told the reception manager that I would be leaving this Review and to which she replied whatever. I've never been disappointed in my life by this place. Would not recommend at all to anyone unless you plan on paying an excessive towing bill.

I don’t understand why this has a rating of 4.3. This is a wonderful hotel that has welcomed to me many times with clean facilities that always look and smell nice, a great breakfast that is included in the room rate and friendly and welcoming staff. I travel the world and say many hotels around the world and Townsville should feel very lucky to have such a great facility on their doorstep.

I had a great time staying here. The staff went above and beyond with all my requests, the room was fresh and modern, and the location excellent. So great to be right in the middle of Cotters Markets on Sunday morning. I also had the buffet breakfast and it was pretty good for the price. It was full when I arrived though so I would recommend to book if you are thinking about having breakfast there. There are lots of options and the food is constantly topped up.

We went to the breakfast buffet on our Saturday morning and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing at the hotel and our meal. Really great value at only $19 for locals. There was so much to choose from including continental selection, full hot menu, pastry’s, coffee machine but the freshly made pancakes was the winner! Staff were great and lots of seating options. Will be back again soon.
